Anderson Cooper never said what Korina Sanchez accuses him of saying (VIDEO)

Anderson Cooper defended his coverage of the Typhoon Yolanda aftermath in the Philippines, saying he never said what ABS-CBN broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez accused him of saying.

Korina Sanchez

In his report on Wednesday, Anderson described the situation in Tacloban where there were many evacuees still waiting for relief goods after five days of being hit by the super typhoon.

He even interviewed a woman who had to cover her dead husband and children with leaves and torn clothes while waiting for help that hasn’t reached that part yet.

The report irked Korina, and in her early morning radio show, she criticized the CNN reporter, saying, “Itong si Anderson Cooper, sabi wala daw government presence sa Tacloban. Mukhang hindi niya alam ang sinasabi niya.” (This Anderson Cooper, he said there is no government presence in Tacloban. It seems he doesn’t know what he’s saying.)

Korina got bashed by netizens for her reaction. According to some, she has no right to contradict the report because Anderson was in the field and she was just there inside the studio. However, others said she probably got mad because Anderson’s report was in contrast to what her husband, DILG secretary Mar Roxas, told the media on the same day - that the situation in Tacloban is already under control.

In CNN’s The Lead, Jake Tapper asked Anderson for his reaction on the accusation by a Filipina radio host and he denied having said that there was no government presence in Tacloban.
